The Portrait Session

with Christian Shenouda

Learn about the process of the portrait session here, along with the investment options available too.

  • A tan and white French Bulldog standing on a log in a lush, green forest with foliage and trees in the background.

    Step 1

Let Christian know you’re interested and tell him a little about the subject and your general location. After that…

  • A tan French Bulldog standing on a dirt path in a green outdoor setting.

    Step 2

He will complete a complimentary consultation with you to get an idea of your specific concepts. You’ll talk about shooting locations as well as dates before the next step…

  • A small French Bulldog standing on a wooden pier with a tennis ball in front of it and a blurred beach and sky background.

    Step 3

Now we begin the creation process. Whether it’s one single portrait session with your subject, or multiple shoots that end with a finished concept discussed previously.

Part of the creation process is photo retouching where many days are spent meticulously working on every aspect of the images to create a true work of art. After the creation process…

  • A tan French Bulldog puppy with dark eyes and large ears looks over a wooden surface with paws resting on it, set outdoors with a blurred white fence in the background.

    Step 4

The Viewing Session. Here, we meet again either in person or virtually, to reveal what we’ve created in Step 3. This is usually the first time you’ll have seen everything from step 3 in it’s final format.

  • A framed photo of a tan French Bulldog with a tennis ball on a wooden floor. The picture is displayed on an easel against a dark gray background.

    Step 5

Here the artwork is passed to our printing partners in the UK, where they hand print, hand varnish, hand make and hand frame the artwork to our exacting standards per your request. They then package the pieces and deliver it with great care to me, here in Santa Monica.

Once we’ve checked all the artwork, we then deliver it right to your door.

“Working with Christian was a fantastic experience.

He managed the challenge of photographing our shy puppy and our twelve-year-old senior dog with ease, showing remarkable patience to get those perfect, natural shots.

Beyond his skill behind the lens, he was professional and kind, providing a seamless experience that culminated in him

delivering the finished portraits to our home.

We are absolutely thrilled with the portraits!”

“My husband and I had Christian photograph us and our 3 dogs for a Christmas card.

The photo turned out so well that we had a fine art photo made for our home - the photo couldn't have been more perfect.

Christian's prices are reasonable and he was lovely to work with. I will use him again in the future for other types of photography.”

“Christian took the most amazing photos of my pup, Daryl, and me!

Christian was very easy to work with!

We discussed what I was looking for and chose location, but Christian put a lot of thought into the ‘right spots’ on location to capture Daryl’s personality and also to capture really touching moments between my dog & me.

Christian took his time and was patient with us- the shoot did not feel rushed.

He made my dog & me comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera.

I truly was so impressed with how all the photos turned out and will cherish them always! ❤️”
